April 29, 2011 - The Westchester County Board of Legislators, meeting last night in regular session, adopted an Act authorizing the County to advance, in accordance with New York Eminent Domain Procedure Law (EDPL), the process to acquire various parcels of real property needed for the replacement of two Bronx River Parkway bridges (at Crane Road) over the Bronx River and Metro-North Railroad. Sheila MarcotteWestchester Legislators Propose "Protest Law"
April 27, 2011 - Legislator Sheila Marcotte has been joined by fellow Republican Legislators, John Testa, Jim Maisano, Gordon Burrows and Bernice Spreckman in proposing legislation that would prevent the disruption of funeral services by protesters. The primary purpose of the law which Marcotte submitted on April 9, 2011 is to protect the privacy of grieving families of soldiers, police officers and firefighters who have died in the line of duty. Initial Map of Newly Reshaped County Legislative Districts Unveiled
April 21, 2011 - The Westchester County Board of Legislators presented an initial map of newly reshaped county legislative districts based on 2010 Census data this morning at a meeting of the Board’s Committee on Legislation. Joining the legislators in the presentation was Dr. Andrew Beveridge, Professor of Sociology at Queens College and the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center, who had been retained by the Board to analyze the 2010 Census population shifts and create this first draft of the county legislative district lines.
